Gladys and Greg - Dreams Resort

Gladys and Greg brought 70 of their closest family and friends all the way to Vallarta for their late May wedding celebration at Dreams Resort!

This couple requested a beach ceremony and terrace cocktail hour, dinner and dancing which provided a great challenge for us as the patio typically used for wedding receptions at Dreams doesn’t offer enough space for the cocktail lounge we wanted to create for this couple along with their dinner and dancing space! So we decided to use the beautiful gazebo at Dreams for the cocktail area and hold dinner and dancing on the terrace just steps away! Later at night, a cigar roller stationed in the gazebo drew guests back to the area to enjoy the décor by candlelight!

Gladys and Greg chose a very modern color palette of parrot green, slate gray and yellow and sent the website of the Viceroy Santa Monica as inspiration for the reception! Using the Viceroy as our model was fun and exciting as the hotel is gorgeous! These are a few photos from the Viceroy that guided us in Gladys and Greg’s design:

And this is what we created for Gladys and Greg . . .

The bride requested white for her flowers, and we composed a bouquet of white roses, dendrobium orchids and lisianthus tied very simply with a white organza ribbon.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of yellow roses and white lisianthus that “popped” off their beautiful gowns. We loved how the bride, groom and their entire bridal party were so much fun and not at all afraid of being a little bit silly!

And this is the couple’s “Viceroy Takes Mexico” cocktail lounge:

Following cocktails, the group gathered at nearby Las Palmas Terrace for dinner and dancing . . . Viceroy Vallarta style, of course!

A few of my favorites from this wedding:

A special calligraphy drink menu was displayed in the cocktail lounge presenting guests with personalized drink items!

The bride and groom’s dinner table was stationed beneath a small gazebo with yellow roses hovering just above the couple as they dined!

The couple’s beautiful wedding cake was made even more special by highlighting the cake table with photos of generations of family members cutting their own wedding cakes!

This setup took on a beautiful evening glow as the sun slipped away and candles were lit and paperlanterns switched on! So despite the dark clouds that rolled across the night sky, not a drop of rain fell and a warm glow was cast upon the entire party!

We were so thrilled that we were able to create a fabulous day for Gladys and Greg, and we received this note from the couple a few days later:

Michelle and Team,

Words cannot describe what you guys have done for myself and for my family. The wedding was in a word: Unforgettable. I can't tell you how many memories your team has helped create - every little detail, the decor, the music, the setting. It was our dream realized, and we can't thank you enough. We had such a blast and the fact that you captured our vision makes you guys magicians. Truly, it was a magical night for all.

Thanks again!!!!!!!
Greg and Gladys

Lori and Richard - Casa Salamandra

Lori and Richard’s celebration is one I will most likely remember for the rest of my life . . . even though I wasn’t there! I worked on the details and design of their wedding many-a-night at three or four a.m. during the last sleepless weeks of my pregnancy, and our first baby was born five days before their wedding! During our daughter’s naps that first week of her life, I worked to put final touches on each and every element of their celebration! I entrusted their wedding day to the amazing Dazzling Details staff – Pablo, Michelle, Victorino and Dorian - and my presence wasn’t even missed!

Besides the event being beautiful, the bride and groom were equally stunning – inside and out! And their photographer, Kristi Klemens, made her mark in Puerto Vallarta, and with her kind and gracious manner, her love of her job and photos that perfectly captured this event, she captured our hearts!

I will put my text aside for this one, and let Kristi’s photos tell the story of this wedding!

Thank you to this amazing couple for being so great to work with and so understanding when I needed to stay home from my first wedding ever!
