Jen and Micah - Dreams PV

Jen and Micah wed at Dreams on November 10th; the weather was perfect, the day was beautiful and the tides - well, the tides were unusually high! Jen and Micah really stressed that they wanted their day to be full of fun and interaction with their guests; they told us that their favorite thing to do together is playing board games, cards, etc. and Micah even jokingly asked if it was possible to do "game night" at their wedding! Well, we did include games . . . in perhaps a less-expected way - and the night was full of fun and guest participation!!! The amateur photos from Jen and Micah's day; more professional photos later on from photographer Paulina Ulloa!

I love moments like these when bridesmaids dash off for a photo, leaving behind a pretty collection of bouquets, clutches and shoes!

To encourage guest participation, we created a wedding Mad Lib - a story about the bride and groom's meeting and first big date! Guests did a great job of providing vocab words to make the story truly . . . unique!

Guests took home traditional Mexican games - Cubilete, Loteria and Mexican playing cards - as gifts!

In lieu of a guestbook, we created mini wish books that also served as table numbers. Guests at each table were asked to share their wishes for the bride and groom in their table number booklet!

And throughout the day, we received more comments and questions on these centerpieces than anything! Several people even asked where they could buy them for their own weddings later that week at Dreams! Fortunately for Jen and Micah, there was no chance of a duplicate as they were made in our own workshop! We loved how they turned out!!!

Congraulations Jen and Micah! It was a privilege to work with you!!!

Jenny and Jeff - Villa Verde

Funny thing. Lots of couples these days want to get married in Mexico but want very little Mexico reflected in their wedding. I get it. Many people immediately associate Mexico with sombreros, pinatas, cactus and tequila.

What many people forget is that Mexico, as much as it has its share of sombreros, pinatas, cactus and tequila, is also a country wealthy with hand-painted pottery, intricately beaded artwork, festive colors, beautifully-designed iron work, succulent tropical fruits and so much more. A Mexican-themed wedding can speak to the vibrancy of the culture through subtle and natural elements as in Jenny and Jeff's wedding this past Monday! Their color palette of fuschia, orange, red and green brought a punch of color to the brick terrace while the decor focused on Mexico . . . in a beautiful, non-sombrero way!

Believe it or not, our inspiration for this wedding came from a couple cakes Jenny liked:

Both cakes had the word "Love" on them - well, we decided to take that idea, add local flare and voila! "Amor" was the theme of this wedding . . . and wow, did it fit the occasion! This celebration focused on the love, uh hum, amor between this amazing couple, their gathered family and group of friends!

A beachfront ceremony in June calls for some shade for guests, and what better way to add color to the beach than with natural bougainvillea suspended over a natural wood structure. Ivory curtains blocked sunlight filtering in from the sides while still allowing for a beautiful view!

Upstairs on the terrace, festive and shaded "cabanas" awaited guests during cocktail hour!

A special children's area was set up for five youngsters! Of course even their area combines with the rest of the wedding!

Guests were seated at beautiful dinner tables that popped with colorful flowers emerging from terracotta pots filled with limes!

Gotta love the cake! A fun and festive combination of several cakes Jenny loved . . . made with "amor" by Charme Reposteria!

After dinner and dessert, guests danced the night away beneath the palapa! Additional seating was placed around the space for those who needed a rest, and decorative terracotta pieces added candlelight and flowers to the area!

Mexican tortas (sandwiches), cookies and milk were served at the end of the night - what a popular treat!

Congratulations Jenny and Jeff - we loved being a part of your festive Mexican celebration . . . filled with mucho amor!

Erin and Shane - Dreams Resort

This was a really fun one! Everything about it - the colors, the vibrance, the couple, the guests - each element fell into place perfectly making for a fantastic evening for Erin and Shane's January 16th wedding!

The couple wanted tropical & colorful, and their wedding invite and love of gerbers gave us a perfect place to start!

This is Erin and Shane's wedding!!!

And just a little something fun . . . the groom gifted his guys Bottle Opener Flip Flops - quite convenient for the right crowd!

Stay Tuned! We have a big one on the way! Next weekend brings a welcome party at Villa Premiere Resort & Spa, Rehearsal Dinner at the NEW Boca Bento location, our first wedding at new Villa Mediterraneo and finally (whew!) a brunch at Barcelo Hotel!
