Cecilia and Hector - Casa Salamandra

Cecilia and Hector’s wedding was a planning adventure! Growing at the speed of light from an estimated 90 guests to a final head count of 180, this celebration took on a life of its own!

Mexican weddings are well-known for their festive and celebratory nature, and this wedding was no different! Planning and design must be done differently, focusing a bit more on the “fiesta” end of the celebration including sufficient dance space for those salsa-ers, lighting and more!

As this wedding was sooo large, I’m going to focus on just a few of the fun details:

Cecy and Hector married in the Catholic church in the Pitillal (one of Vallarta’s neighborhoods with more local flavor)!

The bride brought her own crystal bouquet, but The Dazzling Details created the bridal party bouquets – a combination of green cymbidium orchids, ana roses and white sweet peas – that popped off the fuchsia bridesmaid dresses!

Following the ceremony, the couple posed with their classic yellow taxi before escaping to the reception!

Cecy and Hector’s wedding reception was held at lovely Casa Salamandra in Nuevo Vallarta. The bride was concerned about her guests wearing heels on the sand and decided to install flooring over the entire private beach area for dinner and dancing. Dinner tables surrounded a gazebo area where a special ‘sweetheart table’ was set for the bride and groom; chandeliers with fuchsia roses and crystals were set on each side of the table for the guests of honor!

Cecy wanted a unique combination of contemporary glamour with a touch of vintage romance. This very ambitious bride sent us these two photos as inspiration for her wedding tables - the first of which is a mock centerpiece she created for us to look at!

And this is what we came up with:

Guest tables were decorated in sharp white linens with fuchsia napkins. Tall centerpieces in outdoor settings are very difficult as they tend to blow over (especially with the Nuevo Vallarta breeze!), however, we used heavy glass tower vases topped with floral arrangements to provide Cecy with the tall centerpieces she absolutely loved! Pink crystals hung around the perimeter of the vase adding a touch of glamour, and candles wrapped in gold lace brought an old-world romance to the table!

Once dinner was finished, this group was fired up and ready to dance! Architectonic lights and a lighted dance floor were among the special features we had planned for Cecy and Hector’s reception that lasted until the wee hours of the morning!

While there are many amazing shots of the bride and groom, one of my favorite pictures from this wedding is actually of the groom and his parents! Paulina Ulloa captured this great shot in the RIU Jalisco lobby where the couple and their guests stayed.

Congratulations Cecilia and Hector! We loved working with you and wish you a forever of happiness!
