Amber and Jason - Dreams Resort

Amber’s only request was to not wear shoes! She wanted to show off her heels only up to the beginning of the ceremony aisle, then kick them off and spend the rest of the evening barefoot and beautiful! And she did just that!

Jason and Amber married at Dreams Resort on May 9th. The color palette for this wedding was turquoise, chocolate brown and green. The bride and groom wanted a feeling of nature-inspired elegance on the beach, and this is what we came up with! Enjoy!

Bridal party flowers were kept simple, elegant and primarily white – the bride showed off a beautiful blend of white tulips, white dendrobium orchids and green cymbidium orchids, and bridesmaids carried tulips! The men wore mini white tulips.

The ceremony and reception décor was kept very natural, focusing on sea grass, willow and white orchid blossoms. A path of white rose petals tossed on the aisle right before the ceremony started welcomed the bride (and her bare feet)!

A breezy lounge was set up for guests beneath the beach palapas. Chiffons in the couple’s color palette accented the simple white beach furniture, and clusters of orchids, sea grass and willow were tucked in the sand around the base of each palapa.

Guests’ seating cards were arranged in sand and touches of grass and set to one side of the cocktail lounge.

Dinner tables set around a dance floor were dressed in deep chocolate fitted linens with vertical turquoise runners. White pillar candles in vases filled with sand, more arrangements of orchids, willow and sea grass as well as individual orchid blossoms ran the length of the table. Chair backs were tied with a beautiful design fabric.

One of my very favorite elements of this event was the cake! A beautiful and simple tri-level round cake with chocolate ribbon detailing the top and bottom layer and a special, hand-made wrap (same fabric as lounge pillows and chair ties!) for the middle layer! Sooo pretty!

This setup went from a lovely light feel in the daylight to a romantic ambiance with dinnertime candlelight to gorgeous glow for nighttime dancing!

And just a little extra for those who love photos . . . here’s my favorite from this wedding!

Thank you Amber and Jason for being so relaxed, so cool, so kind and so fun to work with!

Jackie and Terry - Villa Encantada

Jackie and Terry were our adventuresome couple of the season, driving their trailer all the way from Canada to Puerto Vallarta on what they called their “weddingmoon!” Opting for a super-intimate celebration including twelve of their closest family members and friends, this couple hosted an amazingly beautiful and special wedding event at Villa Encantada!

I absolutely loved Jackie’s dress! Not just anyone could get away with this low-cut, twisted back number, but Jackie looked incredibly stunning! Her request for a very small and simple orchid bouquet was exactly what was needed to compliment her dress!

Ceremony chairs were draped with a string of orchids, and palm fans lay on every other chair to keep guests cool! And who needs a ring bearer! The bride brought a beautiful pottery bowl gifted to her, and the rings as well as a locket necklace from Terry’s passed mom were displayed in the bowl with natural leaves and orchids. The bowl was placed on a ceremony table ready for the ring exchange!

We chose to keep the ceremony backdrop 100% natural as the Vallarta mountainside was incredible enough in itself. We simply placed fuchsia rose petals beneath their feet and simple votive candles to their backs; the bride, groom and the beautiful scenery made for a breathtaking view.

A small corner lounge area was created in the couple’s colors – chocolate and fuchsia – and decorated very simply with blown-glass vases, stones and orchids.

An intimate dinner table followed the same pattern – the twelve guests sat around a deep chocolate imperial dinner table with gorgeous orchids and candles lighting the middle. Place cards were held in the tines of the forks in order to prevent them blowing away, and crisp white napkins folded vertically topped off the table with a modern touch.

By night both the lounge and dinner table were stunning in elegant candlelight.

A very simple, square wedding cake was decorated beautifully with cascading orchids.

The couple brought little white boxes with personalized ‘thank you’ labels which we filled with Mexican wedding cookies as a parting gift for their guests.

The next day, Jackie and Terry dressed back up in their wedding attire for a “Trash the Dress” photo session with photographer Paulina Ulloa. This type of photo shoot is fantastic for couples who are looking to spend a little more time getting the perfect photo! Here are a few photos from their day after!
