Silvia and Peter - Dreams Resort

Despite snow falling in the US, Puerto Vallarta continues to greet visitors with clear skies, lots of sunshine and beautiful scenery! Such was the early December day when Silvia and Peter married at Dreams Resort!

The bride requested turquoise, more turquoise and even more turquoise with a few touches of the color coral. We granted her wish and went a step further to design personalized ceremony programs and dinner menus that replicated their scrapbook-style wedding website!

The ceremony took place on the beach beneath a white iron gazebo with flowing chiffon in tones of the bride’s blue; turquoise glass drops and white dendrobium orchids hung from inside the gazebo, and Mexican mosaic vases filled with orchids lined the aisle.

And this we loved! The bride boycotted the tradition and sent us this picture as inspiration for an alternative floral bouquet!

We came up with this beautiful version which Silvia absolutely loved!

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to a nearby terrace for cocktail lounging, an intimate dinner and an evening of dancing!

Seating areas surrounded the gazebo where more turquoise glass drops and orchids hung, and special personalized details were incorporated into the set up!

One dinner table was set for 33 guests, creating an intimate, candlelit dinner celebration!

A very special dinner included a live grilling station from which guests ordered directly from the grill!

And to top it off, Charme Reposteria created yet another gorgeous wedding cake for us!

Congratulations Peter and Silvia!

p.s. For those of you interested (because EVERYONE asks us about dresses they see on the site), Silvia designed her own dress! You can find her at Penelope.

Valerie & Nathaniel - Dreams Resort

Valerie and Nathaniel’s end-of-June wedding blended Latin whimsy with a sunburst of color for an unforgettable beach celebration!

Needless to say, the bride always looks beautiful on wedding day, and these bridesmaids looked lovely too - I especially like their off-to-the-side-"updos."

We used this amazing image we found at Ka-Boom Studios as the base for Valerie’s wedding design and incorporated it into ceremony, cocktail and dinner elements!

The bride's bouquet was primarily white, but we added soft hints of color to make it even more romantic!

Creating new and interesting ceremony backdrops is always a fun task, and we especially loved this canopy! Both Michelle and I (believe it or not) spent hours weaving potholders as a childhood hobby, and the technique came in helpful as we wove together beautiful tones of different fabrics to create this:

The canopy was set at the end of an aisle marked by vases filled with colorful rose petals floating on water.

Val and Nathaniel requested maracas for guests to shake at the finale of their ceremony, and finding ways to present the instruments as beautiful and creative is also a fun task! Personalizing maracas is an exciting trend, and we decoupaged pieces of the inspiration image on to the maraca – I loved the result!

Knowing that the month of June brings with it the possibility of rain, we incorporated a lovely tent into the couple’s design in order to be prepared if drops were to fall (which they did!)

Cocktail hour took place beneath a portion of the tent; breezy white chiffon surrounded the area, comfortable white couches provided seating and beautiful accents made the experience truly unique!

The seating arrangement rested on an easel at the entrance to a dinner area made intimate by beautiful fabric walls, hanging candle screens and an amazing tablescape!

In lieu of a party favor, Val and Nathaniel made a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation in the name of each of their guests.

As the skies turned dark and rain began to fall later in the evening, the bright-colored candles cast an even lovelier glow across the dinner and cocktail areas!

A couple other photos I love from this wedding:

Congratulations to Valerie and Nathaniel! They were an amazing couple with an amazing group of guests who maintained high spirits during a spring rainfall! What a privilege it was to be part of this amazing day!
