Jill and Alex - Playa del Sol Grand

Our March 7th wedding brought a beautiful bride and a beautiful day! Photos are in . . .

Jill and Alex exchanged vows at Playa del Sol Grand in Nuevo Vallarta early this March. Jill said the couple wanted their wedding ceremony to be remembered as "modern and fabulous" rather than following traditional ceremony patterns.

The stunning color palette (found online) was created with varying tones of greens and turquoises - beautiful against the ocean backdrop!

The ceremony was centered between two palm trees on the lovely terrace. Modern box shelves flanked the couple with colorful chiffons, orchids and candles adding a modern touch to the area. A variety of ceremony seating surrounded the couple on three sides; color-palette-coordinated square seats to the sides of the couple and Avante Garde chairs in the middle provided traditional seating for some and more modern fun seating for others!

Lounging areas surrounded the ceremony setup, and guests mingled pre- and post- ceremony sipping on cocktails (and a special children's area provided fun for the little ones!) Trivia booklets with a fun question/answer series about the bride and groom were placed throughout the lounge to provide some lighthearted entertainment. Jill and Alex brought handmade ceremony program fans as a personal touch to the wedding, and white wooden boxes hung on trees throughout the ceremony area with orchid blossoms for guests to toss over the newlywed couple upon their departure back down the aisle!

On the opposite end of the terrace, round dinner tables (the bride's choice for converation) were set with fitted jade green tablecloths. Wine glasses in turquoise blown glass added a touch of color to the table, and my favorite . . . the deep turquoise napkins were wrapped with fresh calla lilies! Dozens of calla lilies were twisted around the inside of large round vases in the middle of each table. Guests found their seats by matted posters hanging on a nearby tree - each table the name of a significant place in the couple's relationship!

A calla lily cake was just one of the special sweets and snacks that personalized the entire event! The ceremony orchid boxes were later transformed into snack boxes around the dance floor - each one holding a favorite goody of the bride and groom - homemade chocolate chip cookies (yes, we actually made them - yummmmm), cheez-its and chocolate-covered pretzels!

A surprise fire dance performance wowed guests and brought the night to a breathtaking close!

Congratulations Jill and Alex, and thank you (again) Kristi Klemens for the amazing photos!

  1. Kristin & Michelle the play on colors is so refreshing and playful. I love it. The blue table clothes, glasses and all the color details makes me want to jump in the ocean. Another wonderful wedding design.

PS I really love the blue glasses, hint hint:)
